Head Coach Bruce M. Martin will be entering his third season at the helm of the Davis & Elkins College basketball program and was recently appointed assistant athletic director effective June 1, 2009.  Martin comes to D&E most recently from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas, where he has been an assistant coach for the NCAA Division I program since 2007.  

  As assistant coach for the University of Texas-Pan American, Martin helped his team achieve the NCAA Division I Independent basketball's best season record. He was actively involved in recruiting and on-floor coaching as well as individual player development, film development, budgeting, academics, admissions and financial aid.

  Agraduate of Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in business management, Martin lettered four years at Clemson from 1991-1995.  He averaged 5.8 points per game and played in 88 contests during his time with the program.  Martin made 129 three-pointers as a shooting guard for the Tigers, and he ranks in the top 10 in school history with 38.4 percent accuracy from behind the arc.

  Martin, a native of Shady Spring, WV has coached for Radford University, the professional Ockelbo Basketball Club in Sweden, Clemson, the University of Wyoming and Francis Marion University. Head coach of the Ockelbo team, he has served as assistant under Byron Samuels, Tom Schuberth and Larry Shyatt.  

  D&E's Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Wilson noted that Martin will be a good fit for D&E.

"He's from West Virginia and was an all-state player during high school," Wilson said. "He knows the coaching programs in this state and he has a strong background as a player, coach and recruiter for Division I schools. All of his former head coaches recommended him highly."

Cameron Westbrook enters his third year as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Davis and Elkins College. Cameron is actively involved in all aspects of recruiting, individual workouts, and game preparation. Additionally, Cameron is also the film exchange coordinator for the basketball program and will also serve as Director of Intramurals for Davis and Elkins College .

 Westbrook comes to D&E after a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Randolph-Macon College, where they finished with a record of 20-6 and tied for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular season crown.  

Cameron, a Waverly, Virginia native played his high school basketball at Tidewater Academy, where he played for his father, Walter, who has been coaching at Tidewater for almost 30 years. As a senior in 2004, he was named Virginia Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year. He received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Virginia in 2008. During his senior year at UVA, he was also a student manager for the basketball team, where he assisted with various aspects of practice set-up, team travel, and film exchange. Westbrook received his Master’s degree this past year from Virginia Commonwealth University in Sport Leadership. 

He has also worked various summer basketball camps, including Hoop Group Eastern Invitational, as well as camps at UVA, University of Richmond , and Randolph-Macon College.
